a. Preliminary Disconnections
NOTE
If a special purpose kit is installed on vehicle, refer to
chapter 4, section XV,
and make necessary disconnections.

Disconnect wires (3) and (2) from water temperature sending unit (4) and engine high temperature
sending unit (1).

Remove hose clamp (8) and hose (6) from water heater shutoff (7). Tie hose (6) clear of engine (5).

Remove hose clamp (10) and hose (9) from water heater shutoff (11). Tie hose (9) clear of engine (5).

Remove screw (14), lockwasher (13), and wire (12) from alternator (28). Discard lockwasher (13).
