Using a soft-faced hammer, tap on worm gear shaft (20) at brake end and allow worm gear (23) to
drop to bottom of gearcase (1).

Remove gear (21), drum shaft (24), and thrust washer (22) from gearcase (1).
25.
Remove worm gear shaft (20) from gearcase (1).
26.
Remove seal (25), thrust washer (26), and sleeve (28) from end frame (29). Discard seal (25).
27.
Remove bushing (27) from sleeve (28). Discard bushing (27).
