Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
O-ring (Appendix D, Item 458)
Hydraulic oil reservoir drained (para. 4-188).
Two O-rings (Appendix D, Item 457)
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Four O-rings (Appendix D, Item 430)
Three locknuts (Appendix D, Item 291)
Do not cross hoses when installing.
Two cotter pins (Appendix D, Item 62)
Cap and plug set (Appendix C, Item 14)
Plug all hydraulic hoses to prevent dirt from entering.
NOTE
Front and rear winch control valves are replaced basically the
same. This procedure covers the front winch control valve.
NOTE
Tag all hoses and fittings for installation.
1.
Disconnect hoses (1), (3), (5), (6), (7), and (8) from control valve (9).
NOTE
Both upper and lower cable clevises are removed the same way.
2.
Remove cotter pin (16), washer (15), and clevis pin (4) from two cable clevises (2). Discard cotter pin (16).
3.
Remove three locknuts (14), screws (13), and control valve (9) from bracket (11). Discard locknuts (14).
4.
Remove four nuts (10), screws (12), and bracket (11) from frame (17).
5.
Remove elbows (19) and (24) and adapter (29) from valve fittings (18) and (23) and elbow (30).
6.
Remove fittings (31), (18), and (23) and elbows (21), (22), and (30) from control valve (9).
7.
Remove six O-rings (20) from fittings (31), (18), and (23) and elbows (21) and (30). Discard O-rings (20).
8.
Remove plug (25), O-ring (26), spring (27), and relief valve (28) from control valve (9). Discard
O-ring (26).
1.
Install six new O-rings (20), fittings (31), (18), and (23), and elbows (21) and (30) on control valve (9).
Position as noted in removal.
2.
Install elbows (19) and (24) and adapter (29) on valve fittings (18) and (23) and elbow (30).
3.
Install relief valve (28), spring (27), new O-ring (26), and plug (25) in control valve (9).
4.
Install bracket (11) on frame (17) with four screws (12) and nuts (10).
5.
Install control valve (9) on bracket (11) with three screws (13) and new locknuts (14).
