NOTE
Both valve rocker levers for cylinder No. 5 must be free (valves
closed). Injector plunger for cylinder No. 3 must be at top of travel
before beginning adjustments.

Shake intake (9) and exhaust (10) rocker levers on No. 5 cylinder (8) by hand to ensure they are free
(in closed position). Ensure valve springs are not compressed.
If injector plunger (5) on No. 3 cylinder (1) is not at top of travel, rotate crankshaft 360 and realign

marks 1-6 VS with the pointer.

Using wrench to hold locknuts (6), turn adjusting screws (7) on injector rocker levers (2) down until
link pin (4) in plunger (5) contacts lever cup (3). Advance adjusting screw (7) 15 to squeeze oil from
lever cup. Loosen adjusting screw (7) several turns.
Position dial indicator extension arm from fixture on top of cylinder (14) injector plunger (5).

Using rocker lever actuator (12), press injector lever (13) down toward fuel injector until injector

plunger (5) is bottomed.
Release lever (11) and allow injector plunger (5) to rise, then press to bottom again. Ensure injector

plunger (5) is held bottomed.

Set dial indicator to zero, release injector plunger (5), and allow dial needle to rise. Dial must show
travel of 0.169-0.171 in. (4.29-4.34 mm).

Turn adjusting screw (7) until dial indicator reads 0.170 in. (4.32 mm) for aluminum housing.
10.
Tighten locknut (6) on adjusting screw (7) 40-45 lb-ft (54-61 Nm)
11.
Press injector plunger (5) with rocker lever actuator several times to check adjustment reading.
