4-20 ROCKER LEVER HOUSING AND PUSH TUBES MAINTENANCE (Contd)
NOTE
Apply light coat of lubricating oil to all parts before assembly.
1.
Install one rocker lever adjusting screw (2) and nut (1) in rocker levers (3), (4), and (5).
CAUTION
Ensure rocker lever shaft oil holes are properly aligned to oil
passages in rocker lever housing. Failure to do this will cause
lubrication failure and engine damage.
2.
Install two exhaust rocker levers (3), intake rocker levers (5), and injector rocker levers (4) in rocker
lever housing (10).
3.
Install rocker lever shaft (8) through one end of rocker lever housing (10) and through rocker
levers (3), (4), and (5) and center of rocker lever housing (10).
5.
Install first new O-ring (6) and next set of rocker levers (3), (4), and (5) in rocker lever housing (10).
6.
Install second new O-ring (6) on rocker lever shaft (8).
7.
Complete installation of rocker lever shaft (8) through rocker lever housing (10).
8.
Align hole (7) in rocker lever shaft (8) with hole in rocker lever housing (10) and install setscrew (9).
e. Installation
NOTE
l Rocker lever housings are mounted with screw-assembled
washers for late model engines.
l Do not mix push tubes during installation. The injector tube is
the largest, and is positioned between the intake and exhaust
push tubes. Intake and exhaust push tubes are identical.
l Ensure push tubes remain seated during rocker lever housing
installation.

Install eighteen push tubes (12) through cylinder head (11) and into socket seat (14) on cam
follower (13).
