General mechanic's tool kit (Appendix E, Item 1)
l Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
l Bump body in lowered position (TM 9-2320-272-10).
NOTE
Both left and right safety braces are removed in the same way.
This procedure applies to left brace only.
a. Removal
1.
Remove nut (5), washer (4), and screw (3) from safety brace hinge pin (1).
2.
Using chisel and hammer, remove safety brace hinge pin (1) from bracket (2) and safety brace (6).
3.
Remove safety brace (6) from bracket (2).
b. Installation
1.
Install safety brace (6) on bracket (2).
2.
Align holes in safety brace (6) and bracket (2), and install safety brace hinge pin (1) with screw (3),
washer (4), and nut (5).
