EQUIPMENT CONDITION
Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
MATERIALS/PARTS
Six screw-assembled lockwashers (Appendix D,
Item 369
Cotter pin (Appendix D, Item 65)
NOTE
Left and right hood hinges are replaced the same. This procedure
is for the left hood hinge.
a. Removal
1.
Remove cotter pin (7) from hinge pin (3). Discard cotter pin (7).
NOTE
Ensure hood is supported when hinge pins are removed.
2.
Remove hinge pin (3) from lower hinge (6) and hood (8).
3.
Remove three screw-assembled lockwashers (2) and upper hinge half (1) from hood (8). Discard
screw-assembled lockwashers (2).
4.
Remove three screw-assembled lockwashers (4) and lower hinge half (6) from crossmember (5).
Discard screw-assembled lockwashers (4).
b. Installation
NOTE
Coat hinges and hinge pins with GAA grease.
1.
Install lower hinge half (6) on crossmember (5) with three new screw-assembled lockwashers (4).
2.
Install upper hinge half (1) on hood (8) with three new screw-assembled lockwashers (2).
3.
Install hood (8) on lower hinge half (6) with hinge pin (3) and new cotter pin (7).
