General mechanic's tool kit (Appendix E, Item 1)
MATERIALS/PARTS
Four locknuts (Appendix D, Item 291)
Two cotter pins (Appendix D, Item 65)
GAA grease (Appendix C, Item 28)
a. Removal
Remove two cotter pins (3) from two hinge pins (5). Discard cotter pins (3).

Remove four locknuts (7) and screws (2) from two torsion bars (1) and mounting brackets (8)
and (10). Discard locknuts (7).
NOTE
Ensure hood and crossmember are supported when hinge pins are
removed.
3.
Remove two hinge pins (5) and bracket (9) from hood (4).

Remove two torsion bars (1) from mounting brackets (8) and (10).
b. Installation
NOTE
Coat hinges and hinge pins with GAA grease.

Position two torsion bars (1) in mounting brackets (10) and (8).
2.
Install two torsion bars (1) on mounting brackets (8) and (10) with four screws (2) and locknuts (7).
3.
Position hood (4) with bracket (9) and hinge (6) and install hinge pin (5) and cotter pin (3).
