d. Installation
Using long end of air seal installer, install new air seal (14) on hub (2), with spring facing out.

Ensure air seal (14) is seated properly in hub (2).
Using short end of seal installer, install new air seal (15) on hub (2), with spring facing out. Ensure

air seal (15) is seated properly in hub (2).

Install snapring (16) on hub (2).
Install new gasket (20), tee (21), new ferrule (22), and screw (17) on hub (2). Finger-tighten

screw (17).
Align drive flange (9) with tee (21) and install drive flange (9) on hub (2) with two screws (11).
5.
Tighten screw (17) 35 lb-ft (48 Nm).
6.
Install two screws (11) in threaded holes (8) of drive flange (9).
7.
Remove two screws (11) and drive flange (9) from hub (2).
8.
CAUTION
Ensure bearings are matched with bearing cups before
installation. Damage to bearings and/or bearing cups may result.
Install inner bearing (18) and new hub seal (19) on hub (2).
9.
CAUTION
Do not allow hub assembly to slide directly over threaded end of
spindle. Damage to air seals may result.
NOTE
Assistant will help with step 10.
Install hub (2), outer bearing (3), and bearing adjusting nut (5) on spindle (13).

While rotating hub (2), tighten bearing adjusting nut (5) 50 lb-ft (68 Nm).

Back out bearing adjusting nut (5) 1/8 to 1/4 turn so washer (6) can be aligned with slot in

spindle (13) and adjusting nut locking pin (4).
Install washer (6) and nut (7) on spindle (13). Tighten nut (7) 250-400 lb-ft (339-542 Nm).

Apply sealant to sealing surfaces of hub (2) and drive flange (9).

Align drive flange (9) with tee (21), and install drive flange (9) on drive shaft (1) and hub (2) with

ten washers (10) and screws (11). Tighten screws (11) 60-100 lb-ft (81-136 Nm).
Install brake drum (12) on hub (2).
