4-149. DUMP SUBFRAME REPLACEMENT (Contd)
b. Installation
1.
Attach two utility chains to subframe (1).
2.
Attach lifting device to center of two utility chains and remove slack from utility chain.
3.
Connect two guide lines to front and rear of subframe (1).
All personnel must stand clear during lifting operations. A
snapped cable, or swinging or shifting load, may result in injury or
death to personnel.
NOTE
Mechanic will handle one guide line and direct hoisting operation.
Assistant will handle other guide line. Second assistant will
operate lifting device.
4.
Lift subframe (1) clear of two shop stands and lower onto frame (6).
5.
Using drift pin, align holes in brackets (3) and (11).
6.
Install two rear holddown brackets (3) on frame (6) with eight screws (5) and locknuts (4).
7.
Remove guide lines, lifting device, and utility chains from subframe (1).
8.
Install two front holddown brackets (11) on frame (6) with lower half-keeper (10), spring (9), upper
half-keeper (8), screw (7), washer (12), slotted nut (13), and cotter pin (14).
