4-148. DUMP VALVE CABLE AND SHIFT LEVER REPLACEMENT (Cod)
b. Installation and Adjustment
1.
Install nut (36) and washer (37) on cable conduit (12).
2.
Place control valve (23) end of cable conduit (12) through lower bracket (38), and install cable
conduit (12) on lower bracket (38) with washer (39) and jamnut (40).
3.
Install cable clevis (41) on control valve (23) end of valve cable (35) with four turns.
4.
Route cable conduit (12) under cab floor (15).
5.
Install retainer ring (16) and seal (17) on cab floor (15) with six screws (18) and locknuts (14).
Slide two lever brackets (4) on lever rod (6).

Install woodruff key (19) on lever rod (6), and elide arm (2) over lever rod (6) and woodruff key (19).
8.
Install screw (1) and locknut (3) on arm (2).

Position shift lever rod (6) on cab floor (15), and install lever rod (6), two brackets (4), and shims (7)
with four screws (5) and locknuts (8).
Install cable clevis (11) on lever arm (2) with clevis pin (13), washer (10), and cotter pin (9).

Install cable conduit (12) and two shims (28) on rear cab bracket (27) with two clamps (30), screws (31),

and locknuts (26).
Install cable conduit (12) on front cab bracket (24) with clamp (32), screw (33), and locknut (25).

Place shift lever in down position (TM 9-2320-272-10).
15.
Pull valve shaft (23) out manually until seated. Valve shaft (23) will stop when seated.
NOTE
Cable throw length can be ajusted with jamnut.

Align hole of clevis pin (20) and hole of cable clevis (41) with hole in valve shaft (23). Use jamnuts (40)
and (36).
Back off clevis (41) one turn and install on valve shaft (23) with clevis pin (20), washer (21), and

cotter pin (22).
18.
Install tiedown strap (34) on cable conduit (12).
