Loosen jamnut (5) on sector shaft adjusting screw (6).

Remove outer seal (13) from trunnion cover (8). Discard seal (13).

Remove four screws (7) from trunnion cover (8) and separate cover (8) from gear housing (3).

Remove packing (12), O-ring (11), O-ring (10), and plastic backup washer (9) from cover (8). Discard
packing (12), O-rings (11) and (10), and plastic backup washer (9).
Remove six screws (20) from steering gear side cover (18) and steering gear housing (3).

Remove side cover (18), sector shaft (2), and gasket (19) from gear housing (3). Discard gasket (19).

Remove jamnut (5) from sector shaft adjusting screw (6).
NOTE
Sector shaft adjusting screw is part of sector shaft.
10.
Turn sector shaft adjusting screw (6) clockwise until sector shaft (2) separates from side cover (18).
11.
Remove seal retainer (21), two-piece seal (14), retaining ring (15), steel backup washer (16), and
forty-four roller bearings (17) from side cover (18). Discard two-piece seal (14) and retaining ring (15).
