Remove locknut (12), washer (11), and shock absorber (2) from right and left lower spring seats (8).
Discard locknuts (12).
13.
Remove eight locknuts (3), screws (6), and propeller shaft flange (5) from differential flange (4).
Discard locknuts (3). Tie propeller shaft (7) away from front axle (13).
14.
Remove eight nuts (101, lockwashers (9), and right and left lower spring seats (8) from four spring
U-bolts (1). Discard lockwashers (9).
15.
Lower hydraulic jack until front axle (13) clears spring U-bolts (1).
16.
Remove right and left upper spring seats (16) from front axle (13).
NOTE
Assistant will help with step 17.
17.
Remove hydraulic jack and front axle (13) from under vehicle.
b. Installation
CAUTION
When positioning front axle, ensure spring U-bolts are properly
aligned so spring center bolt heads enter alignment holes in front
axle spring seats. Axle anchor pins must align to upper spring seat
brackets or damage to equipment will result.
Place front axle (13) on hydraulic jack.

Position right and left upper spring seats (16) over anchor pins (15) on front axle (13).
NOTE
Assistant will help with step 3.

Raise hydraulic jack until spring U-bolts (1) are through upper spring seats (16) and springs (14)
rest on upper spring seats (16).
Slide right and left lower spring seats (8) through four U-bolts (1) and install with eight new

lockwashers (9) and nuts (10). Tighten nuts (10) 350-400 lb-ft (475-542 Nm).

Install propeller shaft (7) and propeller shaft flange (5) on differential flange (4) with eight screws (6)
and new locknuts (3). Tighten locknuts (3) 32-40 lb-ft (43-54 Nm).
6.
Install shock absorber (2) on right and left lower spring seats (8) with washer (11) and new
locknut (12).
