l Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
Lockwasher (Appendix D, Item 357)
Two locknuts (Appendix D, Item 274)
SPECIAL ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
Tiedown strap (Appendix D, Item 696)
Cap and plug set (Appendix C, Item 14)
Work area must be clean and free from blowing dust
Antiseize tape (Appendix C, Item 72)
and dirt.
a. Removal
CAUTION
Clean surrounding surface area and plug all open ports to prevent
the entry of dirt. Damage to transmission may occur if dirt or dust
enters transmission.
NOTE
Have drainage container ready to catch oil.
1.
Disconnect main pressure line (4) from adapters (5) and (17).
2.
Disconnect governor pressure line (8) from adapters (7) and (21).
3.
Disconnect lead (1) from connector (16).
4.
Remove tiedown strap (12) from harness (13) and ground lead (10). Discard tiedown strap (12).
5.
Remove two locknuts (14), screws (9), ground lead (10), lockwasher (11), and fifth gear lock-in
solenoid (6) from support bracket (3). Discard locknuts (14) and lockwasher (11).
6.
Remove adapters (5) and (7) from fifth gear lock-in solenoid (6).
7.
Remove four screws (2) and support bracket (3) from transmission (15).
8.
Remove adapter (17) from transmission main pressure port (18).
NOTE
Only M936/A1/A2 series vehicles are equipped with check valve.
9.
Remove adapter (21) and check valve (20) from transmission governor pressure port (19).
