GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
MATERIALS/PARTS
Diesel fuel is flammable. Do not perform this task
Six washers (Appendix D, Item 712)
near open flame.
Six injector sleeves (Appendix D, Item 256)
Keep fire extinguisher nearby when using
Cleaning cloth (Appendix C, Item 21)
drycleaning solvent.
Diesel fuel (Appendix C, Item 42)
Drycleaning solvent is flammable and toxic. Do

not use near an open flame.
Diesel fuel is flammable. Do not perform fuel system procedures near
open flame. Injury to personnel or damage to equipment may result.
a. Removal
1.
Remove screw (1), injector clamp (2), and injector (3) from cylinder head (5).
2.
Cover injector bore (4) with clean cloth.
b. Disassembly
Drycleaning solvent is flammable and toxic. Do not use near open
flame and always have a fire extinguisher nearby when solvents are
used. Use only in well-ventilated places, wear protective clothing, and
dispose of cleaning rags in approved container. Failure to do this may
result in injury or death to personnel and/or damage to equipment.
Improper cleaning methods and use of unauthorized cleaning
solvents can damage fuel injector.
Clean exterior of injector (3) with drycleaning solvent.

Use injector clamp to support injector for disassembly.
2.
Secure injector clamp (2) in soft-jawed vise.
3.
Install injector (3) into injector clamp (2), with injector nozzle (7) facing upward.
