Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-24-10).
Engine oil drained (LO 9-2320-272-12).
Thirty-two lockwashers (Appendix D, Item 380)
Seal (Appendix D, Item 595)
Washer (Appendix D, Item 711)
Gasket (Appendix D, Item 194)
Gasket (Appendix D, Item 193)
Locknut (Appendix D, Item 303)
Sealing compound (Appendix C, Item 64)
Sealing compound (Appendix C, Item 65)
a. Oil Pan Removal
1.
Remove thirty-two screws (5), washers (4), lockwashers (3), oil pan (6), and gasket (2) from engine
2.
Remove two plugs (8), seal (7), and washer (9) from oil pan (6). Discard seal (7) and washer (9).
b. Oil Suction Tube Removal
1.
Remove two screws (12) and bracket (11) from engine block (1).
2.
Remove two screws (14). spacers (15), oil suction tube (13), and gasket (10) from engine block (1).
Discard gasket (10).
3.
Remove locknut (18), washer (17), screw (16), and bracket (11) from oil suction tube (13). Discard
locknut (18).
c. Cleaning and Inspection
1.
For general cleaning instructions, refer to para. 2-14.
2.
For general inspections instructions, refer to para. 2-15.
3.
Replace all parts failing inspection.
d. Oil Suction Tube Installation
1.
Install bracket (11) on oil suction tube (13) with screw (16), washer (17), and new locknut (18).
2.
Install new gasket (10) and oil suction tube (13) on engine block (1) with two spacers (15) and
screws (14).
3.
Install bracket (11) on engine block (1) with two screws (12).
