Install pilot (6) in new rear oil seal (7). Ensure tapered end of pilot (6) and rear oil seal (7) face the
same direction.

Install pilot (6) and rear oil seal (7) on crankshaft (2).

Remove pilot (6) from crankshaft (2) and rear oil seal (7). Discard pilot (6).
7.
Using alignment tool, alternately tap rear oil seal (7) until seated in rear cover (4).
8.
Install four new lockwashers (10), washers (9), and screws (8) on rear cover (4) and oil pan (11).
FOLLOW-ON TASK: Install flexplate and flywheel housing (para. 4-43).
