11. Remove three O-rings (2) from adapter (1). Discard O-rings (2).
12. Remove retaining ring (3) and fuel screen (4) from adapter (1). Discard retaining ring (3) and fuel
screen (4).
b. Cleaning and Inspection
NOTE
Bright spots or surface wear patterns at top of plunger machined
area, on opposite side at bottom or midpoint, are normal results of
rocker lever action.
1. For general cleaning instructions, refer to para. 2-8.
2. Inspect plunger (5), barrel (7), and check ball seat (6) for nicks, burrs, cracks, or excessive wear.
Replace part(s) if damaged.
3. Inspect spring (8) for excessive wear and damage. Replace spring (8) if damaged.
4. Inspect threads (9) on cup retainer (10) for damage. Replace cup retainer (10) if damaged.
5. Inspect inside and outside cone area of cup retainer (10) for nicks and burrs. Replace cup
retainer (10) if damaged.
