4.
Check cooling system often for the following conditions:
a.Low coolant level in radiator overflow tank (WP 0103 00, Table 1, Item 3).
b.
Cracked or leaking radiator hoses (WP 0103 00, Table 4, Item 61).
c.
Radiator fins clogged with dust, leaves, or insects.
NOTE
Batteries do not hold charge well in extreme heat. Batteries will be tagged for
use in tropical conditions or extreme heat. Batteries will have a white circle
or dot painted on top. Battery electrolyte must be changed to adjust for such
conditions. Refer to TM 9-6140-200-14 for procedures.

Check battery electrolyte level daily (WP 0108 00). If electrolyte level is low, service
with distilled water.
6.
In hot, damp climates check body and chassis often. Notify Field Maintenance if any
of the following conditions are found:
a.
Signs of pitting or paint blistering on metal surfaces.
b.
Signs of mildew, mold, or fungus on fabrics and rubber.
