Parking brake set (TM 9-2320-272-10).
Chains
Inner boom removed (para. 4-195).
MATERIALS/PARTS
GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Cotter pin (Appendix D, Item 69)
All personnel must stand clear during lifting
operations.
1.
Remove cotter pin (3) from extension cylinder (1) and inner boom (2). Drive out retaining pin (4)
from inner boom (2) and extension cylinder (1). Discard cotter pin (3).
2.
Attach chains around extension cylinder (1) and attach to lifting device.
All personnel must stand clear during lifting operations. A
snapped cable, or shifting or swinging load, may cause injury
to personnel.
3.
Slowly pull extension cylinder (1) out of inner boom (2) until chains can be positioned. Place.
extension cylinder (1) on shop horses or jack stands.
4.
Remove chains and lifting device from extension cylinder (1).

Attach chains around extension cylinder (1) and attach to lifting device.
2.
Lift extension cylinder (1) to inner boom (2) and slide into inner boom (2).
3.
Install extension cylinder (1) on inner boom (2) with retaining pin (4) and new cotter pin (3).
4.
Remove chains from extension cylinder (1).
