4-19. CAM FOLLOWER HOUSING MAINTENANCE (Contd)
b. Disassembly
1.
Remove two shaft lockscrews (1) from cam follower housing (2).
2.
Remove cup-plug (3) from cam follower housing (2) with center punch. Discard cup-plug (3).
NOTE
Before performing step 3, mark each cam follower lever with its
location for installation.
3.
Using arbor press and mandrel, remove cup-plug (3), two lever shafts (4), and six cam follower
levers (5) from cam follower housing (2). Discard cup-plug (3).
NOTE
l Use drift to remove retainer pin.
l Use arbor press and mandrel to remove roller.
4.
Remove retainer pin (6), roller pin (9), and roller (10) from cam follower lever (8).
NOTE
Perform steps 5 and 6 only if push tube insert or cam follower
bushing are found to be defective in task c.
5.
Using arbor press and mandrel, remove cam follower lever bushing (11) from cam follower lever (8)
with center punch.
6.
Using center punch, remove push tube insert (7) from cam follower lever (8).
