c. Assembly
Install new sleeve (2) on new roller bearing (1) as follows:
1.
a. Position sleeve (2) on arbor press, with flanged end of sleeve (2) facing down.
b. Press roller bearing (1) on sleeve (2) until bearing (1) bottoms out on sleeve (2).
Install new roller bearing (1) on pulley (4) as follows:

a. Install new retaining ring (6) on front side of pulley bore (3).
b. Position pulley (4) on arbor press with front facing down.
NOTE
Coat outside surface of roller bearing with adhesive sealant before
installation.
c. With sleeve (2) facing pulley (4), press roller bearing (1) into pulley bore (3) until sleeve (2)
contacts retaining ring (6).
d. Install snapring (5) on back side of pulley bore (3).
Install two new bearings (7) and new spacer (8) on housing (10) as follows:

a. Position housing (10) on arbor press with three guide pins (9) facing up.
NOTE
Coat outside surface of bearings with adhesive sealant before
installation.
b. Press one bearing (7) into housing bore (11) until bearing (7) is flush with bottom of housing (10).
c. Insert spacer (8) in housing bore (11).
d. Press second bearing (7) into housing bore (11) until second bearing (7) is flush with top of housing (10).
NOTE
Coat new O-rings with GAA grease before installation.
Install new interior O-ring (16) on inside of groove of piston (17).

Install new exterior O-ring (18) on outside groove of piston (17).

NOTE
Apply GAA grease to inside surface of piston before installation.
Align and install piston (17) on three guide pins (9).
6.
Position housing (10) on flat surface with fan hub (19) facing down.
7.
Align new spacer (15), new clutch facing (20), return spring (14), and thrust cap (13) on piston (17).
8.
WARNING
Thrust cap is spring-loaded. Wear eyeshields and follow assembly
instructions carefully, or injury to personnel may result.
NOTE
l Assistant will help with step 9.
l Coat eight thrust screws with adhesive sealant before
installation.
Install eight screws (12) on thrust cap (13) and housing (10).

Holding housing (10), turn clutch facing (20) to ensure facing (20) spins freely between thrust
10.
cap (13) and piston (17).
NOTE
If clutch facing does not spin freely, thrust cap must be removed
and steps 8 through 10 repeated.
