GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Lockwasher (Appendix D, Item 379)
When cleaning with compressed air, wear eyeshields
Three gaskets (Appendix D, Item 181)
and ensure source pressure does not exceed 30 psi
Cap and plug set (Appendix C, Item 14)
(207 kPa).
Antiseize tape (Appendix C, Item 72)

CAUTION
Cover or plug all openings to prevent dirt from entering and
damaging engine components.
1.
Loosen nut (27) and disconnect air tube (8) from air compressor (28) and elbow (26).
2.
Loosen nut (14) and disconnect air tube (8) from air governor (13) and adapter (15).
3.
Remove screw (11), washer (10), two clamps (9), and air tube (8) from engine access cover (12).
4.
Remove screw (23), wire clamp (24), and wiring harness (25) from lower left side of air intake
connector (2) and intake manifold (3).
NOTE
Wire clamp will remain on wiring harness.
5.
Disconnect hose (20) from elbow (21).
6.
Remove elbow (21) and air cleaner indicator filter (22) from intake manifold (3).
NOTE
Tag cable ground strap for installation.
7.
Remove screw (18), washer (17), lockwasher (16), and cable ground strap (19) from intake manifold (3).
Discard lockwasher (16).
NOTE
Air intake manifold is mounted with screw-assembled washers
on late model engines. Screws, lockwashers, and washers From
early model engines will be discarded and replaced with screw-
assembled washers.
Perform step 8 only if clamps are on vehicle.
8.
Remove screw (30), two clamps (29), and fuel tubes (31) from cylinder heads (1).
