GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

All personnel must stand clear during lifting
operations.

Do not put hands between frame and engine

Do not detach chain from engine until engine is
supported.
PERSONNEL REQUIRED
Lifting device must have a capacity greater than the
combined weight of the engine and transmission.
Two
Engine must be securely mounted on repair stand.
CAUTION
Cap or plug all openings after disconnecting lines and hoses to
equipment,
Tie all loose connections away from engine. Failure to do so may
cause damage to equipment.
NOTE
If a special purpose kit is installed on vehicle, refer to chapter 4,
section XV, and make necessary disconnections and connections.
Tag all loose leads, lines, and tubes for installation.
